It’s that time of year. “Senior Season”! Because I’m a “Lifetime Photographer”, I photograph all phases of life: everything from Babies, Children, Families, Weddings and of course graduating seniors!
I love designing senior sessions around the individual’s talents and interests. Nicholas is a music lover who is a percussionist at SMS so hanging out in a record shop (while we waited for some pop-up showers to pass) and near the preforming arts district of Kansas City were perfect nods to what he loves.
This session and this bride hold a special place for David and I. Alyssa was our flower girl 18 years ago when we got married and in just 2 weeks, she and Greg will be saying “I do”. Alyssa is David’s cousin so that wedding day will be not only a work day for us but also a family event!
Alyssa and Greg are both engineers and met at KU in their engineering school so The KU Campus was the perfect spot for their engagement photos. We certainly got our steps in walking up and down the hills but it was well worth it when we ended at Potter’s Lake at sunset.
So a thing happened this weekend….
Many of you know Carl because he’s been at YOUR wedding. Carl worked with David and I for upwards of 10 years, assisting, shooting, helping wherever he could. Carl was our right hand man. More importantly Carl has been a dear friend to David and I since before we were married and was even the best man in our wedding and godfather to one of our children.
3 years ago Carl met Christina and it was just like magic, they were instantly inseparable. David and I were honored to be asked to be part of their day (look closely, you’ll see a VERY handsome groomsman!).
The clock is ticking down to a few weeks from now when Ariel and Matt will say “I do” so it’s perfect timing to celebrate them on the blog today! A night spent getting to know my couples is always time well spent and I’m so happy to be working with both of these amazing people!
It’s great when a couple asks to incorporate special ideas into their session. Mel and Travis met in Westport and it seemed like the perfect place to capture their engagement photos. They’re a fun-loving couple who also wanted to incorporate their personalities into the session so pizza and pop-a-shot were a must!
Our first round of “Mommy and Me” sessions was a huge success! I’m looking forward to seeing our second round next weekend. There are still 2 spots available for next Saturday’s session – contact me ASAP to reserve your spot!!
I’ve been dying to shoot some sunset photos now that spring is here and the sunsets are amazing and last night’s session with Kristen and Josh was the perfect opportunity. We started the evening with some family photos with their amazingly adorable and hilarious daughter, Scarlet and ended the evening with just the three of us capturing their engagement session. I met Kristen and Josh last fall at Jessy and Davey’s wedding (their best friends) and they’ll be getting married in June. It was nice to have the chance to laugh and get to know one another better before their big day!
He’s here! A few weeks back I featured Hannah’s maternity session, Baby Jaxson has made his debut and my goodness he’s an adorable baby. He looks just like his dad and has a full head of hair. I loved playing with him so much – any time you need a baby holder, give me a call Hannah and Tyler!!
